Little Dragons | Happy Chinese New Year!
Chinese New Year is one of my favorite holidays as it’s very close to my heart and reminds me so much of my early years. As a child growing up in East London, I recall being part of a school that celebrated cultural diversity. I remember clearly making decorations for my class and learning about the different animals and their significance in the Chinese New Year calendar. It’s amazing how some things stay with you. So on Sunday, I took the opportunity to go and see the parade starting in Trafalgar Square. As I walked around and watched, it was heart-warming to see so many people out celebrating together. People old and young of different religious and ethnic backgrounds joining forces to unite in joy and laughter. Seeing this, I couldn’t help but relate it to the current political climate and wonder what life will be like in a few months and years. I for one, know that I will do my best to show my children the world and the diverse cultures it has and the importance of embracing difference. I feel this is the only way to build tolerance and respect for all. Anyway before I get carried away with my thoughts, here are a few snaps from a few hours of snapping. Love to hear your thoughts and comments.
