The Muslim Ban Protest

The Muslim Ban Protest

Here are a few images from a protest in Central London on 4th February 2017. The protest took place in London’s Grosvenor Square. I wanted to shoot something a little different from my usual wedding/families captures and thought the opportunity would give me a chance to notice other forms of expression, anger, frustration and maybe even humour. The challenge on the day was the rain so I geared myself up to shoot in the rain. I always feel a little uncomfortable when it comes to rain as I worry about my camera and all the what if’s. There wasn’t any going back or staying in bed as I had made plans with a few photography buddies that I would be there. So I couldn’t bail on them.  As I walked up to the crowd I could see groups of people gathered and the sound of music playing in the background. It did feel a little like a carnival. The atmosphere was relaxed with lots of people walking around chatting and looking at the stalls.  Watching the protestors in groups, the space began to fill up. The clouds gave way to rain yet people huddled together and chanted to the call of the main speaker.  Here are a few images from the day. I wanted to capture images that not only showed expression but also had a deeper message in them. Would love to hear your thoughts and views on the photos, what they say or don’t say.azad-yasin-9369 azad-yasin-9382 azad-yasin-9412 azad-yasin-9429 azad-yasin-9435 azad-yasin-9451 azad-yasin-9453 azad-yasin-9476 azad-yasin-9502 azad-yasin-9524 azad-yasin-9549 azad-yasin-9666 azad-yasin-9692 azad-yasin-9702 azad-yasin-9745 azad-yasin-9761A few shot
